How to Control Access to your Blog on Blogger!

Here are the simple steps to control access to your blog on blogger:

1: How to add team members

STEP 1: USING YOUR GOOGLE CREDENTIALS, SIGN IN TO YOUR BLOGGER ACCOUNT AT BLOGGER.COM

STEP 2: Select your blog in the top left corner.

STEP 3:  In the menu on your left, click the "Settings" option.

STEP 4:  Scroll to "Permissions" then click on "Invite more readers"

STEP 5:  In the pop-up, enter the e-mail address of the person you wish to invite. Then click "Send"

Once accepted, the team member name will appear on your menu.  To give a team member Administrator Access, click on their name and select "Admin".

Reminder:  Admin's can add/remober other administrators and authors.  They can change your Blog settings and modify the template.  They can also edit/delete any posts on your blog.  Be careful and make sure you trust the person you are choosing as an administrator!

If you realized you made a mistake trusting someone as an administrator, simply go back to permissions, click "Blog admins and authors" and delete the administrator by clicking the X.

If you choose to retire from your blogging career and hand over the reigns to a new owner, simply make them an administrator via the steps mentioned above, then remove access to your own account.  The new owner will have to delete and republish any and all posts if they want to change the owners name of the blog.  Yes, more work. So don't retire.

2: How to add authors

STEP 1: USING YOUR GOOGLE CREDENTIALS, SIGN IN TO YOUR BLOGGER ACCOUNT AT BLOGGER.COM

STEP 2: Select your blog in the top left corner.

STEP 3:  In the menu on your left, click the "Settings" option.

STEP 4:  Scroll to "Permissions" then click on "Invite more authors"

STEP 5:  In the pop-up, enter the e-mail address of the person you wish to invite. Then click "Send"

2: How to make your blog private

STEP 1: USING YOUR GOOGLE CREDENTIALS, SIGN IN TO YOUR BLOGGER ACCOUNT AT BLOGGER.COM

STEP 2: Select your blog in the top left corner.

STEP 3:  In the menu on your left, click the "Settings" option.

STEP 4:  Under the "Permissions" category, select "Reader Access"

STEP 5:  In the pop-up window, select the level of access you desire.  "Public will be visible to everyone, "Private to authors" will limit access to authors of your blog, "Custom Readers" are only people you have invited to access or read your blog.  Once you make your selection, click "Save"

You can remove access to your blog from readers in the same manner mentioned above for removing admin's.  Simply locate the name of the user to be removed under "custom readers" and click the X to remove them.

3: How to limit access to adult content

**WARNING**

IF YOU HAVE ADULT CONTENT ON YOUR BLOG AND DO NOT PROVIDE A CONTENT WARNING, GOOGLE CAN AND WILL DELETE YOUR BLOG!

STEP 1: USING YOUR GOOGLE CREDENTIALS, SIGN IN TO YOUR BLOGGER ACCOUNT AT BLOGGER.COM

STEP 2: Select your blog in the top left corner.

STEP 3:  In the menu on your left, click the "Settings" option.

STEP 4:  In the "Basic" category, toggle the slider to the ON position to enable "adult content warning."

You now have all the tools necessary to manage the comments on your Blogger pages.
